The Estate around Borgo Santa Cecilia covers an area of about 320 hectares, about a hundred of which are part of Rete Natura 2000, a system for the safeguard and protection of the environmental and landscape heritage, an ideal habitat for boars, roe deers, deers, hares, partridges, pheasants and woodcocks.
104 hectares are used for the cultivation of cereals, fodder and olive trees under organic farming standards. Most of the harvest – which is made of wheat, spelt, barley, oat, chickpeas, lentils, peas, field beans and alfalfa – is used to feed the locally-bred animals and for the food we serve in our restaurant.
However, great taste is not necessarily to be found in restaurants. Here you will discover home-made products and mouth-watering cured meats such as ham, salami, sausages, coppa di testa and the delicious “Lardo di Colonnata”.
